Last week, in a heartbreaking yet sadly familiar scene, our Animal Rescue team and partners rescued 49 starving and neglected horses, donkeys, and mules from terrible conditions in Wayne County, W.Va.
Many of the emaciated animals have ringworm and severely overgrown hooves. Others are suffering from rain rot and several have gaping wounds.
The animals are now in our temporary shelter where our team will remain over the next several weeks to provide the treatment and care these animals so desperately need. Watch their rescue.
