Nearly 200 dogs who spent years living in their own filth without proper veterinary care or socialization are being brought to safety right now, thanks to a team of United Animal Nations (UAN) volunteers.
Volunteers with UAN’s Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS) are working with teams from other local and national organizations in Sparta, Tennessee, to remove these dogs from a puppy mill where they had been living in their own feces in a small home.
Please help us shelter and care for these neglected animals by making a gift to UAN’s Disaster Relief Fund today.
EARS volunteer Debbie Ferguson was part of the team that awoke before dawn to rescue the dogs – most of them toy poodles. Debbie reported that the dogs are crammed 30 or 40 to a room in the tiny house, and cages of puppies lined some walls. “They are matted, filthy and scared,” Debbie reported.
Watch a video of some of the rescued dogs on our Web site.
The dogs are being transported to an emergency shelter where they will be examined by veterinarians. There, they will receive the tender loving care and attention that UAN’s EARS volunteers have been trained to provide until they can be transported to other shelters for evaluation and adoption.
Your urgent donation today will help our EARS volunteers give these and other rescued puppy mill dogs comforts they’ve never experienced before -- grooming, treats, a warm bed and the kind touch of a loving person. Please donate today.
Thank you for caring about the animals.
Warmly,
Nicole Forsyth
