Not only does this drink keep us hydrated, but it also helps to increase energy, improves digestion and makes our skin look better. It can even aid in weight loss by giving us something to sip on instead of munching. And it's free. It's not some new trendy drink—it's water. But how much water do we really need to drink to see all these benefits?

To get the most out of your water, sip it with each meal and make sure to have a glass or bottle around between meals. The best rule of thumb may be one your mom told you: If your urine is pale, you've had enough water. If it's darker, you need to drink more of it.

To make water more appealing, add a slice of lemon or lime for a little extra zing.
