To drink and burn the healthy way, try sipping your water fast and cold, says Janice Taylor, weight-loss coach, author and creator of the Kick in the Tush Club. That way your body needs to put in more effort to warm the water, giving you a nice metabolic boost and burning extra calories.
But if you're in the mood for a warm drink, try a hot cup of coffee or green or black tea, says Lisa Davis, Ph.D., vice president of research and development for Medifast. These warm liquids will stimulate your sympathetic nervous system, leading to more calories burned.
