You don't need to give up all good-tasting foods if you're trying to lose weight. iVillage expert Jeanette Jenkins, founder and president of the Hollywood Trainer, recommends three foods that will both satisfy you and help fight the fat:
1. Grapefruit or grapefruit juice: Jeanette says that grapefruit contains a flavonoid that not only lowers blood sugar levels, but also reprograms the liver to burn excess fat. Sounds like two great reasons to get yourself some of this delicious, tangy fruit!
2. Raw salmon, tuna or other cold-water fish: The fish oils and omega-3 fatty acids help promote the fat-burning process, and the fish's protein keeps your blood-sugar levels down.
3. Whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal and whole wheat: The fiber helps to keep you full, and sugar will be absorbed more slowly into your bloodstream, so your body will burn more fat for fuel.
