Rah-Rah for Raspberries!

We're smack in the middle of raspberry season, which usually begins in June and lasts through October—so now is a great time to enjoy these delicate, flavorful, good-for-you fruits.

Raspberries are an excellent source of antioxidants, preventing cell damage that may help reduce your risk of diseases like cancer. Plus, they're an excellent source of both vitamin C and manganese, which help protect your body's tissues from damage, and are high in dietary fiber, which prevents your blood sugar from rising too quickly (and crashing later on!).

One cup of raspberries has only about 60 calories and 1 gram of fat, making them a great choice for a sweet yet satisfying dessert. And eat them up quickly—raspberries usually last in the fridge for only two to three days after you buy them.

Here's another tasty tip: Freeze your raspberries and toss a handful in the blender with low-fat yogurt for a delicious and refreshing late-summer smoothie!
