Why Am I Losing My Hair?

Question: I am a 68-year-old man and my hair has started to get really thin. Could this have something to do with my thyroid?

Dr. Brownstein's Answer:

One of the main causes of hair loss is a hypothyroid condition — when the thyroid doesn't produce enough of certain hormones. Other causes of hair loss are mineral imbalances as well as other hormonal imbalances.

The mineral deficiencies most commonly found to cause hair loss include magnesium, selenium, and silica. Silica can be an important supplement for anyone suffering from hair loss.

However: I have RSD/CRPS and Fibromyalgia and that causes me to loose my hair so take heed to Disease's.
