Should You Try Snooki's Cookie Diet?

Unless you've been cut off from all pop culture, you've probably heard of Snooki, the 4'9" Jersey Shore TV star. Besides her crazy antics on and off the show, Snooki's also gotten some press for being on Dr. Siegal's cookie diet, which involves eating six low-cal cookies a day plus a small meal—for a shockingly low 800 total calories a day.

Is the cookie diet worth trying? Consuming so few calories, nearly everyone is bound to lose weight. That said, the diet is not nutritionally balanced and not maintainable over the long term, plus it's difficult for the body to function properly on so few calories.

What's a healthier way to lose weight? Try eating small, frequent, healthy meals and get enough sleep and exercise. Then, if you still crave the occasional cookie, you can eat a delicious-tasting one anytime you want without worry.
