While the Caveman Diet can be too restrictive—it encourages you to eat only foods your ancestors might have eaten, such as meat, raw produce, nuts and seeds—there is one lesson you can take from the diet to help with your own weight loss: eat nuts as part of a healthy diet.
"Nuts and seeds contain heart-healthy monounsaturated fat and fiber, both of which take the body a long time to digest, and can regulate appetite as a result," says Erin Palinski, a registered dietitian from Franklin, N.J. Just remember to limit yourself to about two tablespoons daily to not go overboard on the calories.
