We've all heard it: Snacking can sabotage the best-laid weight-loss plans. So maybe you've told yourself that you're going to end all snacking. Even if you're hungry in the afternoon, you'll skip the extra food so you can save calories and eat more for dinner.
The problem with this scenario: You need to listen to your body. If hunger strikes, you should have a snack so you don't overeat later on at dinner. Just make sure the snack is a healthy one, like an apple, a low-fat cheese stick, a handful of nuts or a low-fat yogurt. That way you'll give your body what it's craving while still eating a healthy and sensible dinner when the time comes.
