3 Foods That Raise Your Cholesterol

Whether you've already been diagnosed with high cholesterol, the condition runs in your family or you're just trying to stay healthy, there are plenty of good reasons to avoid foods that could raise your cholesterol levels. Here are three particularly bad ones to avoid.

1. Caesar salad with chicken: Here's an example of a salad that isn't healthy. Caesar salad dressing is loaded with fat and high in calories. To make this a healthier option, ask for the dressing on the side and use it sparingly.

2. Bean and cheese enchiladas: The cheese on the enchiladas is high in saturated fat, which can raise cholesterol.

3. Cherry pie: Although the cherry filling could be okay (but likely high in sugar), the crust could be made with lard and partially hydrogenated oils, which are big no-nos if you're watching your cholesterol.
