Better for Your Bones: Strength Training or Yoga?

Though both strength training and yoga strengthen your muscles, which is better to boost bone health?

To keep bones strong, strength training is the clear winner. "Lifting weights or using resistance bands causes muscles to contract vigorously and pull on the bones they're connected to. This, in turn, activates bone cells to form new bone," says Jeanne F. Nichols, Ph.D., professor of exercise physiology at San Diego State University.
