Eat Potato Chips to Lose Weight?

You likely crave potato chips now and then, but probably think you have to avoid them if you're trying to lose weight. Well, think again! According to Ellen Kunes and Frances Largeman-Roth, authors of the best-selling new book The CarbLovers Diet, potato chips contain an ingredient called "resistant starch," which travels intact through your digestive system. Since it doesn't get broken down into glucose in your bloodstream, you end up feeling fuller longer.

Though you shouldn't go crazy eating chips—the authors say about 24 is a good number to satisfy a craving—also consider munching on baked chips for even less impact on your waistline.
