Food Swap: Which Fruit Is More Healthful?

It’s common knowledge that fruit is good for you as it delivers a dose of essential vitamins. What you may not know is that fruit also is high in fructose, a type of sugar that fails to produce the hormone leptin in your body. Why do you need leptin? Because it helps control appetite and decrease belly fat.

To help trigger that all-important hormone, aim to eat fruits low in sugar. I recommend blackberries, which have just 3 grams of sugar in half a cup, compared to a whopping 11 grams of sugar in one-half of a banana.
