Traffic to my blog is a good measure of what’s top of mind for animal advocates, and below, I list the 10 most popular blogs for the second quarter of this year. My take on shocking abuse of dairy cows in Ohio gained the most eyeballs. The blog interpreting the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the federal law banning cruelty depictions was second on the list, and that is no surprise since the case itself was front-page news and one of the most talked about rulings of the term.
As always, readers are drawn to action, and Animal Planet’s exposé of Petland and puppy mills and the filing of animal cruelty charges in the Bushway veal calf cruelty case caught your attention. Other entries simply captured your heart, like photos of baby animals being rehabilitated at our Fund for Animals Wildlife Center and the story of nearly 100 dogs and cats rescued from a hoarding situation in Virginia. Two blogs about exposing the deceptive work of the Center for Consumer Freedom made the list. Entries about the commercial seal hunt and false and misleading animal welfare claims on food labels round it out.
