4 Super on-the-Go Snacks

You can't help when your snack attacks strike. But if you want to fight hunger before you give in to your unhealthy cravings, carry around any of these snacks for whenever you need a boost:

1. Cashews: 18 roasted, salted nuts will fill you up with only 170 calories. (Although they have 14 grams of fat, only 2 grams are the saturated kind.) Cashews also have 20 percent of your daily recommended dose of magnesium. Plus, they fit easily into your bag or purse!

2. Turkey jerky: This snack is high in protein, low in fat and has only 60 calories per ounce—just look for a brand that's lower in sodium for full health benefits.

3. Dried apricots: They're high in potassium, which is great right after a workout. Plus, 1/4 cup has only about 100 calories.

4. Sunflower seeds: These highly portable snacks are high in vitamin E and healthy fat, and contain 173 calories per ounce. Just watch for added oils to keep the seeds from becoming a diet danger.
