Do You Have to Eat Breakfast Every Day?

You've heard this weight-loss advice: Eat a filling yet healthy breakfast in the morning and you'll drop pounds because you won't be as ravenous when lunch and dinner roll around. But in our real lives of work and errands and kids, we don't always have time to fit in a good-sized breakfast. What's a real-world solution to cooking and eating a morning meal every single day?

Relax. Though you should still try to eat something for breakfast to fill you up and give you energy for your a.m. activities, you don't need to chow down the minute you wake up. Instead, eat up to two hours after you get out of bed, which gives you time to throw something together. It doesn't even have to be that elaborate—instant oatmeal with some fruit or nonfat Greek yogurt with honey will suffice. Just make sure it's high enough in protein to keep you satiated through lunchtime. And save your big, bountiful breakfasts for when you have more time on the weekend!
